Turning Point

My favorite part of knitting socks! I know that I'm halfway there and it's such a nice change of pace. Both of these heels were turned this weekend .....

crosshatch heel
My lacy, delicate summer heel

party stripes heel
My wooly, warm winter heel

These socks will be done soon I hope, since I already have my next 6 pairs of socks planned in my head. I might as well join summer of socks KAL don't you think???

A Dulaan hat....the pompom used up every last inch of the skein!

red dulaan hat

Yarn: Austermann Soft Wool color 0009 cherry burst - 1 50g skein
Needles: 16" circular US 9 (followed by 2 circulars for the top shaping)
Pattern: none - 70 stitches - basic hat

I still want to get another Dulaan sweater made....I haven't decided on yarn or pattern...all I know is that it probably won't be a big one since I'd like to have the box in the mail by June 1!

Speaking of Dulaan ....look what I won in Tammy's Dulaan contest. It is the wonderful Best of Knitter's Shawls and Scarves. I spent last night curled up with it dreaming of the Faroese shawls and Twining Lace hat and mittens that I will make someday. This book is FULL of history and inspiration...Thank you, Tammy - you are kind, caring and very generous!!
