Pat's Knitting and Quilting
<<Well...// Main // In Progress>>
August 29 , 2008 We have had an amazing summer with time spent in Alaska with my oldest son and good friends, followed by a wonderful family reunion in NH where we celebrated my mother's 80th birthday. A little knitting and quilting was squished in with all the other happenings! I love plain stockinette socks - and I never get tired of watching variegated yarn patterns develop - so these STR Fire on the Mountain socks seemed like the perfect 1st sock to make after my long, shoulder enforced hiatus. Love them!!
Pattern: My basic cuff down 60 stitch pattern Next - Beautiful Komi mittens... I used a child size pattern with size 6 needles and worsted weight yarn for perfect adult size mittens. Charlene Schurch designed this mitten using 3 different patterns - a different one for the palm, back and thumb - with a beautiful 2 color twisted edge - never a boring knit! Preview of the next socks (these are going to take awhile!) I've been excited about quilting lately and my attention is being pulled that way more and more. I am just starting the machine quilting on my bali scrap quilt. I've done part of the ditch quilting and am starting some outline quilting - I've still got miles to go....think it's bright enough?? The pattern will be more obvious when you see the whole thing. I'm not sure my lights and darks have enough contrast - Can you see stars?
and the next quilt...
