Pat's Knitting and Quilting
November 19, 2008 My hearty whole grain harvest socks - I love them (I know I say that for all my socks, but I REALLY do!) The 8 row weave stitch panel in Mad Color Weave is easily memorized after 1-2 times through, so it becomes a simple satisfying project that knits up quickly with sport weight yarn. I've recently knit 2 pairs of socks in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport - the gentle color shading and heavenly softness/squishiness makes it perfect. Pattern: Mad Color Weave by Tina Lorin and a little closer.... I'm showing you socks, but my head is chock full of mittens ! I had many different mittens planned, but I dropped them all when I saw Kathy's beautiful Moose Loves Roses mittens. (Scroll down a little way, but check out her new Selbuvotter gloves on the way down!) Just in the nick of time, I joined the Jorid Linvik Designs KAL and raided my leftover sock yarn to start moose mittens - not enough for a picture yet....soon though :-) On the quilting front, I am finally machine quilting the Mother Goose Quilt - It has fun prairie point borders and a soft beautiful flannel backing. The machine quilting plan is developing as I go...
