Salt Water Taffy and Cookies

In the spirit of spring.... a simple and fun batik lap quilt.

Saltwater Taffy

Pattern: Salt-Water Taffy by Amy Walsh
Size: 40" X 50" (finished blocks 5" X 5 1/2")
Fabric: All batiks - the kit came with 30 10" batik squares and I added fabric from my stash to make 80 blocks (instead of 56)
Method: Machine pieced / machine quilted (gentle curves with feed dog up)

It is just one repeated block with spacers on the right and left sides - no need to match up any seams - just fun color play!

I got my Cookie A book and have already started my 1st sock - Vilai (such a pretty pattern!!) in Lilac Lorna's Laces. See the cute little "cookie" project bag? It fits 2 yarn cakes, the socks, the chart - everything in one place so I can grab it and go. My talented friend Linda made this for me and I love it! She is on a roll and has made even more of these fun project bags, and as of yesterday was setting up an Etsy Shop to sell them (along with pretty stitch markers). So if you want your own cookie bag....

Vilai

They look complicated, but the chart is simple enough that I was able to work on them after a glass of wine last night with no problems at all! (at least none that I've discovered yet)
