Pat's Knitting and Quilting
April 5, 2010 I have a bit of a backlog and want to return to realtime blogging, so here you have it - I'll try to keep it brief, but you know how I am with pictures...
I keep meaning to show you the wonderful prize package I won in the Ravelry NaKniMitMo KAL. A beautiful mitten pattern (Mitaines and Moufles by Veronik Avery from The Twist Collective) along with the perfect yarn for knitting them! Not only that, but a beautiful, well constructed project bag handmade by splityarn which is just the perfect size for socks/mittens/hats. Thank you to Ruth and Carol who make this such an inspirational and fun KAL each January! Next up is gorgeous 75% BFL 25%Silk Fiber beautifully hand dyed by Kristin from AllSpunUp. This is the April/May SAL fiber in Ice Cave (perfect name!) which I spun into 230 yards of worsted 3 ply yarn (110 grams) - also a teeny weeny skein of navajo ply. I'm thinking maybe a hat - probably won't start until the fall. And the last catch up fiber is this beautiful Crown Mountain Farm Finn Top in Peace of Mind Coloway. I divided it into 3 horizontal pieces and divided each of those in half for 2 skeins of 3 ply sock yarn - 420 yards of fingering wt. yarn (105 grams). I started making Dave some socks from this yarn (in progress pic at the end of this post.) OK - All caught up and back to realtime blogging...
