Quick Quilted Advent Calendar

I love these little guys peeking out....

I followed Sew Mama Sew"s excellent tutorial with several changes....I used a straight set with thinner sashing and smaller pockets to make a perfect 20" X 24" size. I also ironed on the numbers with Ultrahold Heat and Bond, since I was in a bit of a hurry to get it done in time to use this year.

and here it is with the beautifully lined pockets partially filled

The little folded triangle corners on the back are perfect for hanging - I didn't have a dowel, so just went in the backyard and got a stick to slide in and the calendar is hanging by our fireplace.

At the ages of 12 and 14, my youngest boys are still thrilled to get their little surprise each day leading up to Christmas :-)
