Pat's Knitting and Quilting
November 10, 2010 The quilting switch has been turned on and the knitting switch is off and I'm having a blast. There are so many amazing quilt blogs out there - kind of like knitting blogs before Ravelry. Here is what my sewing table looks like right now... I have 3 quilts in line for machine quilting and 2 more in progress, so will take pictures of all of them as they are completed. My plan is to make donation quilts for children - which frees up my inner spirit and helps me let go of perfectionism - I can take chances with design/color and know that a child will love to wrap up in these fun quilts no matter what. There are 3 charity organizations that I'm excited about - has anyone had any experience with these groups? If so, I'd love to hear about it - I just want to be sure that my quilts really get to a child. Wrap a Smile Here's a tiny quilt that I just finished using these 4 patches made over a year ago. Sorry about the photos - it's raining, so these were taken with inside with poor lighting- better to get them up than keep waiting for sunshine! Here is the back made with leftover squares - I actually like the back as much as the front! Pattern: just scrappy 6" 9 patch squares sewn together Some close ups of fabric/quilting I may even try free motion quilting on one of these next few quilts - maybe I'll learn a new skill! (The comment system I have is lousy - If you are a new commenter and I don't know you, I have no way of responding to your comment, so....If you have a question and really want an answer, there is an email link on my upper right sidebar - Please email me - I ALWAYS answer emails so if you don't get an answer, check your spam box.)
