Galactic Explosion

I've been slowly working on Galactic Explosion (perfect name!) for a year and LOVE the bright and beautiful final quilt. Using black and white fabrics as a background makes it quite lively - coupled with the bright hot fabrics and the dancing stars in the border -this quilt has definitely got some pizzazz!

Galactic Explosion Quilt

Pattern: Galactic Explosion a free BOM by Nancy Rink
Size: 87" X 87" - plenty big when trying to squeeze it through my machine!
Fabric: Nancy's Fabrics supplemented with stash (I chose to make the "warm" version)
Method: Machine pieced/Machine quilted with gentle curves

The quilting is more visible in the photo below with the sun at an angle - random gentle curves - my often used quilting method on big quilts.

The perfect final touch - a tiny 1/4" black and white flange just before the binding - I LOVE this special ending!

A final picture draped on the couch before it moved to the bed - livens up the bedroom for sure!

Thank you Nancy for a fantastic block of the month project!!!
