Handspun Waterville Hat

I've been gone awhile, but have continued to knit/spin/sew/weave and have quite a backlog of projects to get up here!!

1st up is my new favorite hat :)

I used just one braid of hand dyed fiber to make this hat by splitting it into color sections and spinning them separately into 3 ply fingering weight yarn. (lots more fiber yarn pictures on Ravelry)

Pattern: Waterville Hat designed by my friend Marcy of Stepping Stone Fiber Creations - (Webs pattern link)
Size: Medium (148 stitches)
Yarn: One braid of FatCatKnits hand dyed Falkland Wool in Chevalier colorway - split into 4 color sections and spun into 3 ply fingering weight yarn - total 104 grams - 320 yards (only used 80 grams for the hat) - also used leftover handspun cashmere for lining.
Needles: 2.5 mm lining/ 2.75 mm hat
Mods: None - This pattern was perfect in every way!

The hardest part of making this hat was deciding color placement - I love fun decisions like that and am thrilled with my choices. Here's a kind of weird view from the top and front.

Now I want to make more using all my other hand dyed braids!
